“The cast can't really be faulted I have to say. Gerard...”

★★☆☆☆

Good Points
The Visual production and acting in this year's production was suberb and each performer did their best with the poor script.

Bad Points
The whole show (especially the first half) seemed rather slow and failed to keep the attention of the audience and although most pantomimes are renowned for vintage jokes and scenarios, the material used here was really scraping the bottom of the barrel. On this particular evening they failed to get the audience laughing many times and were only saved by the occasional ad lib from the cast. The sound levels were rather low and as we were sitting close to the rear of the stalls, many around us were straining to hear the dialogue. Surely it wouldn't cost the theatre a lot to install a better PA system?

General Comments
The cast can't really be faulted I have to say. Gerard Kelly and Andy Gray in particular gave fine performances. But with decent material and a clearer sound system this could have been so much better.
