General Comments
The Sony DAV S800 DVD player is, on the whole, a desirable and well designed piece of kit.
The most striking thing about the system is its lovely silver speakers/stand design - however, I think this may be the reason for its one limitation. In my experience I find that mid-tone is quite lacking and thus the treble dominates - probably due to the small speaker design. This actually is not so noticeable when playing DVDs but is annoyingly obvious with audio CDs - one of my reasons for the purchase (£623!). The sub-woofer is excellent esp. with action DVDs and can give quite a rumble! The system is a doddle to set up as it comes with preconfigured colour coded cables and connectors and looks great when set up.If you are an avid audio listener I'd say give it a try out in a demo room before you buy this one.
