You get a lot of amp for you money! Especially when they're used. New now...well? It's pretty expensive but with aesthetic changes like classic logo, metal insert input jacks and tough plastic side handles make this amp competitive over it's competition. The main good points is it's versatility and tone! Two channels with gain boost acting like a 4 channel amp. The fx loop is by far the most impressive i've seen and very useful in hooking up certain effects to dedicated channels which would not bleed through to either A or B channels if you so desire. Last but not least it has a level knob on the back that acts like an attenuator. Very nice feature. You can switch from 6l6 to el34's.
This amp is incredibly loud! In order to really hear how good it sounds. You have crank her. The eq section can take a bit of time to get use too. They're quite sensitive to any changes you make. They do make some like hiss sounds but it's not audible when you play it live.
There isn't many things that this amp can't do. It has a great clean and distortion sound. Very natural and saturated, it' also have very nice dynamics to your playing individual notes ring out clear and distinct. I've owned and play many amps and can afford more expensive amps out there as well. I haven't found anything that has out performed the VH100R for the money. Sure you can get a boutique amp like Bogner, Diezel, Cornford Komet, Two Rock and etc. But for an amp that is rock solid and delivers the goods day in an day out and cost a lot less than the others. The VH100R is hard to beat for sheer value!
