General Comments

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW...
We were honestly shocked how over rated this airline is. When telling people at my work that I was flying with Emirates I've heard a lot of positive feedback. We have just arrived to Auckland after spending 30h on 3 flights (Glasgow-Dubai-Auckland).
Seats - we have never seen anything like that before. When you recline your seat the front of the seat goes up - and it does go up a lot making your feet floating in the air (I'm 180cm tall). There is no foot rest or anything to support your feet. We have flown to NZ with Korean Air before, had few flights to US with BA and Lufthansa, but never seen anything like that. When the seat was in normal position I was only able to touch the floor with my toes.
Food/service - on 2 of 3 our flights (sitting in row 3x) they run out of meal choices - I was basically told they have "run out of chicken" so there's only seafood available. On the second flight (Dubai-Melbourne) they run out of choices for dinner and breakfast! (Although after strongly objecting this when it happened for the third time they finally managed to get me my meal). I know that things like that may happen (although never happened in Korean Air or BA) but if they happen on 2 of 3 flights it honestly makes me wonder. In addition, to get any drinks after the main meal you have to ask during 12h flight only once have they offered a round of juice.
Dubai - beware of "free" Millenium Hotel they offer if you have a next flight in the morning/next day - when I booked this flight I was told that this hotel is "on the other side of the road from the airport" giving me an impression that it's very accessible and even though I arrive at 12:30pm I will still be able to get some sleep before my 10am flight. The reality is that it takes 1.5h to go through passport control in Dubai and then (and this is really shocking) we spent 1.5h in the hotel (at 2am) waiting in the queue to get the key to the room. There were people waiting with very small kids and really nothing was done only three people were at the check in desk and asked everyone to fill in the forms etc so it really took ages, nothing prepared in advance even though they new names of passengers well in advance. We ended up getting 4h of sleep. Unless you are willing to spend 3h getting to and from the hotel avoid it at any cost!
The worst is that we have a return flight with them - but this is in 3 weeks so we will enjoy our holiday in NZ now.

Sorry ! but after what we experienced in Bangkok, no wonder, really !!!
They offered us a flight out of BKK with a 12h Layover in Dubai, but we even did not get an offer to stay in a hotel nor even to use their Lounge (remarkable : Stuck in BKK for days after Airport was reopened again !!!)
