The items (eventually) arrived were as described!


Bad Points

Order of 2 phones in 2 for 1 deal, but 1 phone was despatched. Very poor customer service, even with direct dial number! Website appallingly misleading.


General Comments

My fioncai and I found 2 Samsung J700 offered on CPW website at £29.31 each. Ideal gifts for our nephews, aged 9 and 11. Advert shows free ASUR Eeepc with this phone. This is misleading, as it is actually only available if you upgrade to O2! Stores know nothing about this.

I called CPW direct to ask and was told they have no control over their website?! I was then promptly offered a deal the shops couldn't match - 2 for 1. Great, as we wanted 2. He was busy with another call and would call back in ten minutes. Just under an hour later - after I had called back twice I got the promised call.

The sales guy, in fact, offered the 2 phones, one with airtime for £25 and for a further £10, I could have the airtime for the other. £35 for 2 phones with £10 credit on each. Excellent!

We went through all the sales patter, confirming this deal at least twice. I added 2 micro SD cards, discounted with a fiver off. Total price agreed at £52.

When we went through the payment details, though, he wanted me to pay £45 for the phones, plus the money for the cards. he was quite insistent that I pay, as he would lose commission. I stuck to my guns and finally, after a long chat with his supervisor, agreed it was his mistake.

So delivery promised for next day. Waited in and nothing. I called them back and there was a problem with the payment - they had refunded it to my card, but with no conversation with me. I wanted the phones, so paid again. Next day delivery promised.

Next day and a parcel arrived, with 1 phone with 2 cards. The pick list even stated 2 phones! I then had to call again to arrange delivery of second handset, which arrived the next, next day.

I have to wonder if this deal actually was that good, with all the calls and running around that I made?
