London Review Of Books seems to offer some quite good information on books, current issues etc. I agree that you tend to find more literary and therefore obscure books here (more likely to find Seamus Heaney than Katie Price) but that's generally good.

Although it's a small thing, the name and the site seems to imply greater quality of information, and it does deliver.
