Good Points

Style, reliability, economy, price, handling and fun to ride.

Bad Points

Lights (I like to see the road in the dark), lack of proper stand, cramped working space on air filter and the wires behind the lights (Try to change a bulb). Stupid indicators on the end of the handlebars (they will not get broken in a spill!), stupid digital speedometer, (mine reads about 1/3 out, Reads 19, actual 29, trip for 14 miles reads 8.5,) and because of the lack of lights blinds the rider by its back light, which should dim at night when the lights on!

General Comments

I got my Sachs MadAss 50 four months ago and so far so good, proved quite reliable which at the end of the day is the important thing, especially when your are miles from home. Nothing worse than getting to a place and finding you are stuck there! Nice handling from the bigger wheels and nice strong frame, the rear suspension can be a little harsh at times.
It is a 2006 machine pre-owned.
I have a few niggles though. Now I know these days they have to be restricted to 30 MPH for learners, but they do this via the CDI and rev. limiter, which in my opinion is not required due to the lack of power. The handbook says it produces 2.6 BHP. I can remember my first bike a Honda SS50 produced 6 BHP from a similar design of engine. Still you buy a moped, you get a moped.
The lights are a pain to change the bulbs, and the driving illumination is very poor. I would like to see the road at night! Why must you have to dismantle part of the carburettor to change the filter?
The replacement speedometer is a joke! At 30 MPH it indicated 21, the trip for a 14-mile journey shows 8.5 miles.
I have changed the front sprocket from the 11 tooth to 15, that has helped the top speed but the hill climbing ability has diminished.
Any one else find first too low?
