Good Points

I have had this gun for 20 years. I have four daughters and they all learned to shoot shotgun on it. Now I am teaching a young 11 year old boy whose father doesn't hunt to hunt. It is light enough and small enough to feel comfortable to beginning youngsters.
I like the single shot for training purposes because it has the external hammer, and it can be broken open quickly to unload it, and quickly loaded when game is seen. Pumps and semi's can overwhelm a first time hunter, and safety buttons can be confusing.
I put a sling on it to easily carry it through the woods.
With the full choke, it has to be aimed very carefully for an accurate hit, which I look upon as a positive in training young hunters. It also shoots slugs accurately up to 20 yards, although I never used it with my kids for deer hunting. I loaded 110 grain light loads in my .308 for deer hunting for them.

Bad Points

The only bad point is the trigger has a rough heavy feel, and almost has to yanked to be shot. This can create a bad habit for a young shooter. However, for the price, the trigger is understandable. I will probably take it to a gunsmith one of these days to get it lightened up.

General Comments

Overall, it is a great little gun for youngsters to learn on, and I still enjoy taking it for a jaunt once and while through the woods at 56, even though I have many guns that cost much more.
