For me they have always been reliable.
Bad Points
Once made inquiries for my MAC code (out of contract) and was led around in circles. Never got it & as a result have stayed with AOL. I know (sad).
Their new email layout (browser) is terrible & the new spell check is confusing & time consuming to use.
General Comments
On the whole, I think AOL are ok. Iv never lost my connection. Have always been able to get on line when ever I wanted. Download speeds have been close to what they say (compared to other ISP's). i.e. I am on 8mb & managed around an average 6.5mb.
However, I have just signed a 12month contract for 8mb unlimited download + Unlimited phone calls for £12.99 (after changing from my AOL Broadband Gold £19.99 per month to Broadband Silver £12.99 per month).
I have been assured my broadband connection will remain the way it has always been at 8mb Unlimited. But with the addition of the telephone call package (FREE) & a new wireless router/modem. (not yet received).
I just hope I have not made a mistake by staying with AOL.
