My suspicion is that RBS don't want the One Account and are therefore not interested in keeping customers happy hoping that they will depart in enough numbers so that the unit can be closed down. Like others here, I have been a One Account customer for many years and remember the regularity with which rates followed those of the Bank of England, the helpfulness of customer service staff, etc.
I am surprised Richard Branson/Virgin have not taken RBS to task for providing such a dire "service" under the Virgin name.
