General Comments

The new Borders.co.uk page is certainly aesthetically pleasing, however in my experience it is merely a pretty facade masking utterly appalling customer service. As several reviews suggest, the checkout process differs from the accepted norm of sites such as eBay, and can be confusing. Also, there is a tendency for the final stages of payment to end in an error message rather than confirmation of success, coupled with items still appearing in the basket. This is utterly misleading, as these apparently failed orders can have in fact gone through. The chances of duplicate orders is worryingly high, and woe betide the foolish customer who requests the intervention of an actual human being.

The new website is all very well, but not backed up by equally cleverly-designed customer support
