Good Points

Service from all staff on the Golden Princess was very good except as noted in comments section. We chose the anytime dining and were not disappointed but make a reservation on a daily basis or you may have to wait for a table; especially if you want to sit alone.
Self service laundry. Next cruise I will not bring so many clothes as I can wash, dry and iron. Washer and dryer were $1 each per load and irons\boards are provided in the laundry area. Only 2 washers and 2 dryers.

Bad Points

Drinks are expensive from my point of view. $6.75 for a beer is a bit much.
Not enough time on shore to see much or take tours. You can get much better pricing online for tours but getting back to the ship on time has to be a consideration.
Buffet was okay but only for breakfast. Food was always cold by the time you found a seat. Hamburger from the stand was pretty good but hot dog was salty. If you are on a tight budget you may want to consider bringing cash as you will be charged a 3% fee on credit card transactions. Internet charges are high also.
Taxis are pricey from the dock. I was quoted $60 for a round trip that was 7 miles each way on Hilo. Consider a tour as the available shuttles take you to Wal Mart or Hilo Hatties.

General Comments

We enjoyed the cruise overall and were satisfied. This was only our second cruise.
Check your bill a day or two before the end of the cruise. A fellow passenger alerted me as he had found errors and sure enough there was a charge I had not made. It was corrected easily enough.
My wife likes to sing karaoke and she and some audience members were disappointed that the hosts did not count all of the votes for the contests to qualify for a talent show. I do not think they could have counted any votes as the results were announced very quickly.
I hate mandatory tipping. The cruise lines should pay a decent wage for the workers and let people tip based on service.
