Good Points

I am surprised by other reviewers posative comments, I must be dealling with a different company.


Bad Points

- Expensive.
- Home Helpline appallingly abysmal
- Security telephone controls tedious & waste time (First Direct is the benchmark).
- Claims staff are clearly more interested in how to avoid paying a claim than anything else.


General Comments

After suffering some roof storm damage in early November I contacted LTSB to get assistance from their Emergency Homeline. What an abysmal waste of time that was! After usual call centre telephone maze and interminable piped music I was finally advised to call a local roofing contractor!
After, getting a quote from a local firm and contacting the storms claim team after another 30 minute phone call, I was advised that there where storms in my area which could have caused the roof damage, but there had been insufficient rain to cause any water incursionand therefore LTSB would not pay for the claim. Given that there was 4 inches of water flooding the road outside my property on the day in question this is pretty astounding.
This was my first attemped claim on my buildings policy after 7 years with LTSB and frankly I may as well be throwing the money out of the window when I look at the quality of service I have experienced.
My advice would be do not buy cover from this company as the product clearly "does not do what it says on the tin". I am currently looking for another home insurance company!
