Great even tone across the dynamic range with fresh strings. Good-looking, and very clear, crisp tone indeed.
Strings die very quickly on it, and it becomes too bottom-endy for my taste. Problems with build-quality.
I bought it new in 1991, after dreaming of owning a Martin for years. Laquer starting bubbling around join of neck and body about fifteen months later. Martin refused to honour warranty, as it was over a year old, and lifetime guarantee was US-only (be aware of that!). I wrote a polite letter to them and received a very rude response. Cost me £85 in 1994 to get the bubbling checked. I still have the guitar, but much prefer my Taylor 810 and my Gibson Sheryl Crow. I rarely take the Martin out of its case, and would sell it if I got a good offer.
