Sale pitch, poor workmanship
General Comments
I ordered two windows and one front door from Anglian with £1700. This was after their sales man's discount after discount, the often mentioned sales pitch. I did not wait too long, 5 and half weeks, for the installation. But just the fitter finished the windows I found that the windows are not the type what the sales man shown me. I talked to the fitter and he said they have two types and this is the cheaper one. Basically this type is called "Castle window", they don't have the security feature like the shoot bolt, the thickness of the frame et al. They are like the window I just want to replace, and they are 17 years old. I talked to their manager and they told me my survey report, which I signed, specified this type of window. Their surveyor had never discussed with me what is "Castle windows". The two windows were not fitted properly, as you can feel wind can blow in through the seal between the door and the main frame. I think the main frame if not fixed straight but rather curvy. I talked to the fitter and he thought this is this type of window's own problem. I refused to pay them because these problems, but now they threaten to take me to court.
I would never recommend Anglian Windows Limited to any one.
