Good Points

Almost half the price of the leading companys, great customer service, fast response when I needed it!

Absolutley none thus far!


General Comments

After being members of the AA for twelve years my wife and I decided that their renewal prices were becoming a joke and added to that, the few times we actually needed them they were far from helpful!
After being with GEM for about a month my motorcycle chain snapped on the A38 on my way home from work in rush hour traffic. I rang their 24 hour helpline and after being on hold for approximately 30 seconds a very helpful operator answered and after finding my location I informed her that I would definitely need recovery as the bike was unrepairable at the roadside. She then informed me of the name of the recovery firm that was on its way and that it would be there within the hour.
Two minutes later I received a text message from GEM repeating the information she had just given me and five minutes after that the recovery firm itself rang me to give me an ETA of 25 minutes. The recovery truck duly arrived and I was home all within an hour.
GEM breakdown insurances use third party recovery firms which is an excellent idea as this keeps membership costs low and is no bad thing as the few times I used the AA two of these were attended by third party recovery firms as all of their own patrols were busy!
I cannot recommend GEM's breakdown insurance highly enough; they were fantastic when needed, what more can you want?
