Good Points

Well featured Internet Banking
Faster Payments offered


Bad Points

Internet Banking site is starting to look dated and is a little clunky to use.
Credit Card is not fully integrated, if you make a payment is shows up four days later (interest is backdated though)
Endless problems with Credit Card not working due to incorrect fraud detection.
£25 Annual Overdraft Arrangement Fee for £1000 overdraft!


General Comments

First Direct are by no means the worst internet bank but they seem to have stagnated and are not trying very hard.
I have been with them for five years and apart from the useless credit card (I can't seem to successfully order anything with it) I have been mostly satisfied.
Recently I went over my overdraft limit due to changing jobs and got hit with £25 unauthorised overdraft arrangement fee, I decided not to challenge it because I did go over by £2000 so thought it fair enough. Yesterday I received a letter telling me I was going to be charge another £25 for next years overdraft, well surely this is money making exercise!
This has prompted me to look around at other banks to see they offer better service for less fees.
