    There is no guarantee that the quotations (they can be submitted to anyone) are legitimate.

    No specific sources (other than the supposed author's name) are included.

    Just one example of a quotation that is a fiction is:
    "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine." attributed to Thomas Jefferson.

    The Thomas Jefferson Foundation's website has researched this alleged quotation and classified it as a spurious quotation, one of 21 one such circulating fictions that the Foundation is aware of.

    "We currently have no evidence to confirm that Thomas Jefferson ever said or wrote, "Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%" or any of its listed variations. We do not know the source of this statement's attribution to Thomas Jefferson."
