Good Points

1. We had a brilliant tour guide. His passion for his country and its history was only surpassed by his knowledge of animals, birds, trees, flowers and fauna. He really made this holiday enjoyable.
He changed the times of the itinerary to ensure our jeep safaris were successful.
3. He added other items to the itinerary to compensate for the exclusion of our train journey. We visited a government school, woodcraft factory, batic factory and a silk store where all the ladies changed into sarongs for a photo shoot.
4. Whilst Saga had changed our additional weeks stay at Dickwella Beach Resort for another. He gave us the chance to stay here for our extra week. This resort, the four of us renamed "Paradise"as us oldies took advantage of the instructors talent in teaching us to snorkel. First in the pool and then in the fantastic bay.
5. The views at this resort was were second to none, whether it be at breakfast or evening meal looking out over the bay or ocean.
6 This additional week was the icing on a very enjoyable cake.


Bad Points

1. Poor administration by Saga
2. Selecting another beach resort in preference to our "Paradise" resort.


General Comments

If Saga Tours really want to be No1 in Sri Lanka. I suggest they contact our guide and let him be responsible for the itinerary instead of relying on a few office workers in the UK.
This guide would be a must to promote tours in his own country.
