Good Points

Willing to give us an unroadworthy vehicle that was not inspected beforehand.


Bad Points

We booked a car advertised to cater for 4 adults and four large bags and were advised we would be required to upgrade to fit the bags. Luckily we had our printout and were able to argue for a suitable vehicle.
Secondly, the credit card that we provided (one that covers Collision and Damage Waiver) was initially declined until we insisted and the clerk called the telephone authorisation number- magically the card was then accepted.
When advised that we had found that the headlights were inoperable (it is illegal to drive on the autostrada without headlights) they were initially argumentative, then unresponsive, and finally unhelpful.


General Comments

We wasted many hours out of our vacation trying to deal with a problem that should have been so easy to fix with basic customer service. Thrifty have shown once again that they are unresponsive to customer complaints and have exceptionally poor service standards. Their line employees were unempowered to deliver good customer service even though they clearly wanted to. Thrifty appears to be an organisation that doesn't care about their customers.
