Everything is bad. Never buy any insurance from Ecar.


General Comments

17 March 2008 - I made 3rd party claim
19 March 2008 - I paid excess
03 April 2008 - Excess was cleared from my Bank Account
24 Sept 2008 - Received letter from AAMI insurance saying that Ecar is saying I have paid the excess. Pay $3700 else court proceeding
25 Sept 2008 - Spoke to Ecar, claim officer he will settle my claim
03 Nov 2008 - Received Court Notice from AMMI's solicitor. Ecar has not paid claim. Pay $4500 or attend court hearing and will impact on credit rating.
Lot of stress, worry, impact on person life, professional life
04 Nov 2008 - Consulted personal solicitor at my cost, I send fax that Ecar has not followed the General Insurance Code Of Practice
05 Nov 2008 - Try to contact Ecar Compaint Manger. No reply from him. Let 10 voice messages. He has not returned my call.
14 Nov 2008 - Claim amount has been paid to AAMI's solicitor
It took eight months to settle my claim. Has affected my work becuase I spend lot of time for follow-up. Around 100 fax, 100 calls, 100 emails. Lot of stress. Lot of patience. Never leave Ecar. Fight for justice.
I have raised my compaint with Insurance Broker Dispute LTD.
Tips:
1. When ever you call someone if it is in voicemail then notedown the time
2. If you speak to someone notedown time and date
3. Fax or email Ecar insurance if you discuss something on phone.
4. Never trust them on phone. They are not honest.
5. If you are not able to call someone or if they are not returning you call then fax or email them.
6. Make sure you have enough evidence
7. Keep all documents, all certificates, all letters with you.
