When you belong to Private Banking, you get a somewhat intelligent person who answers the phone right away.
Bad Points
I have NEVER encountered such poor service in an organisation before. None of the departments seem to talk to each other, staff are unresponsive, branches are unhelpful, and they even lost £2000 of my money once. Absolutely terrible bank.
General Comments
I have decided to post this review to prevent anyone else having to experience all the trauma I had with NatWest. After having credit, current accounts, loans, business accounts, etc., with them for years I finally took all my business away because of the poor service. Whenever I would call them with a problem they would either tell me they would call back and never would, or would tell me to call another 0845 to some other department and when I would do that, the other department would tell me to call yet another department.
It was near impossible to get a loan statement out of them without a month's worth of phone calls. They lost an online payment of £2000 that I made and I didn't get the money back for six weeks, they recently couldn't process some direct debits and it took two months before they notified us.
