Great continuation from the previous Saw V. Explains a little more about the accomplices and says in no uncertain terms about the involvement of cop who's been involved since the start. Not ultra gory and features heavily on Flashbacks and montages. Good ending and acting by all.
Bad Points
A bit of an incredible ending and if you know that Jigsaw works literally with all his warnings you'll probably groan. This was a shock in 1 and 2... but now in 5.. you can put 2+2 together.
General Comments
The SAW series is a lot more engaging now since its weaker parts 2+3, it has developed a little more respect for Jigsaw and this cop accomplice. There's a surprise victim of Buffy/Angel and Dexter fame. As usual most of the victims in Saw 5 you have little sympathy for as the film blurs the matter between black and white. The overall feeling is dark with a fair splashing of blood. Still, I think they could make the sets a little more scary - something what Eli Roth did with Hostel. Overall, it's worth watching if you've been following the series to date. It's worth going to the cinema if you're a big fan, but you could wait til DVD. Still, it's one of this years stronger mainstream horror releases that deserves attention in the run up to Xmas. Another good part is the total lack of referencing to the weaker SAWS with his female protagonist. There's less shock in this movie, it takes more from the psychology of other 'Outside The Torture Room' and delves into human frailty from both sides of the ordeal.
