Good Points

Easy to use, lots of stitches, much quieter than my old machine, and I like that you can adjust the speed (I slow it down for bobbins and difficult areas so I don't accidentally go too fast).

Bad Points

buttonholes were a bit hard to figure out (even with the manual because I'm used to them starting from the back instead of the front), and I dislike the way it occasionally stitches one or two stitches after you take your foot off the pedal. I also wish it had two thread holders like my old machine.

General Comments

The Janome 8080 is a great machine. The only thing that's not covered in the manual is that it says "SP" in the window when the bobbin winder is activated (and that the buttonholes move backwards instead of forward from the start). I got it on clearance with only one foot, and the feet are expensive (I've spent $50 on feet just to get a buttonhole, and darning foot, and it's another $50 for the walking foot, all of which were supposed to come with the machine).
