friendly staff, excellent food (would not recommend on a saturday)

I feel it is too expensive for the area, food was not so good when the restaurant was very busy

General Comments
I have been to Theobalds French and English Restaurant several times before and it has been very nice but this last visit was disappointing for me. Prices seemed to have risen and portions seemed smaller, potatoes for four were not enough for two persons. The runner beans were under cooked cold and hard i had the vanilla rice with fruit compot this was priced at £7. the rice barely covered the bottom of a small bowl with a teaspoon of very cold fruit in the middle.
