Good Points

Does everything! No, really, it does. You can even cook a frozen chicken (straight from the freezer) in it using the auto cook buttons I use this a lot. Highly recommended and easy to use.

The express cook and auto cook features are well designed and can be relied upon - they are not just gimmicks but are really useful if you care to try them out.

It is a competent microwave and convection oven, is well built, and is huge inside. It has 2 removable shelves for convection cooking, and 2 circular racks for microwave/convection/combi cooking.

Bad Points

Size - it is very large (I mean huge). Before you buy this, make up a cardboard box of the same size and try to find somewhere to put it in your kitchen. You may want to consider Sharp's 26L model that has the same functionality, though I don't know whether a smaller oven would fit a family sized chicken in like this one does.

General Comments

I owned the previous model (R-963M) for 5 years until it died a few weeks ago. 5 years is probably not what you wanted to hear, but that was an older model, and it got a lot of use. This Sharp R959SLM is essentially the same machine, judging by its capabilities. It is well built and cooks well.

If you are skeptical about the "gimmicks" of having an auto cook for eg: a chicken, lamb, pizza etc..., then think: When you want to cook do you want to look in the manual to see what setting to use and how long for, or would you rather press a button and leave the oven to decide how to cook? My experience is that this oven is well designed/programmed and the features work well.
