Bad Points

Rubbish internet banking interface, poor service, terrible communication.


General Comments

I opened a business account with HSBC some years ago. Not long ago I decided to switch it to an internet-only business account to save on banking fees. Well, that didn't work very well. I had numerous problems getting the account processed. I also asked to add a newly appointed director to the authorised contacts. That took six weeks! Changing my business address also caused various problems which I had to make several trips to a branch to sort out. (It seems addresses are stored in a variety of places on their IT system and they kept "missing" some of them).
Their internet banking is really bad. I can't download transactions older than six weeks. How do they expect business customers to do their accounts!? Whenever you view transactions, payments etc. you have to choose your company every time even if you only have one business account with them. I find their personal account internet banking interface quite good. Why they can't invest the same effort for business customers is beyond me.
