We arrived at Dublin airport and we were told our car was ready. When we got to the transaction, we were offered an 'upgrade'. The upgrade was a RAV 4 and we had booked a Ford station wagon. I refused the upgrade because 5 adults and a lot of luggage would not fit in. We were eventually offered a Skoda Octavia estate which could be delivered in 30 mins. I accepted this, but when the car arrived it had no hubcaps and a very large smash in the nearside wing. Of course I refused this, and I was offered little else. Eventually I settled for an Avensis saloon which when I got into, stank of cigarette smoke. Fortunately a friend had space in his car to take some of our luggage. With all the extra costs, this turned out to be an expensive hire, and well over an hour of our time wasted.
