Bad Points

I got the car nearly 2 months ago but have only driven it for 6 days in total having had courtesy cars for most of the past two months. Problems +++ mainly due to the particulate diesel filter system. Seriously regret going anywhere near this model of car.


General Comments

This Audi A3 has been a dreaful experience. Audi have told me that the car may not be suitable for anyone using it for short, stop- start journeys due to the diesel particulate filter system. I would add that I certainly was not made aware of this prior to getting the car. I don't actually do many short journeys but drive mainly on motorway and use the car for my job. The result is that every 4 days (200 miles) the filter blockage warning light goes on and I have to drive for upwards of twenty minutes on the motorway in third gear. If I am lucky the warning light will go off, although it often doesn't. Nightmare car, if I had the chance again I wouldn't touch it with a barge poll.

    I found this review very helpful because...I bought an Audi cabriolet TDI in May 09.I have broken down twice already due to the diesel particulate filter.I carried out all procedures to no avail.This is the most unfriendly car I have ever owned as I have now had it towed 200 miles.
