General Comments

Max Payne is an action film based on the 2001 video game of the same name. Our hero, Max, (Mark Wahlberg) is a cop working the cold case files looking for the killer of his wife and infant son three years ago. His hunt eventually leads back to his wife's former job in a pharmaceutical company where his father's former police partner (Beau Bridges) heads up security. Along the way he finds an ally in Mona Sax (Mila Kunis) who may be looking for the same person but for a different reason. Throw in some supernatural happenings, the street drug scene and a lot of guns and you've gone from video game to movie. Never having played the game I can't give anything from that perspective, but as an action film this one is slightly lacking. Certainly worth a watch though.
