General Comments

I went out and bought this game without thinking - I had the money there and then and thought 'why not'. The box displays perfectly what the game is about - illegal street racing in los angeles. There hasn't been a game around this focused on the illegal street racing scene since need for speed underground (which I personally think will never be matched). Straight away your thrown into the story and throughout your career various races and opportunities to win cars and other perks come up. There are too many types of race involved for me to name them all, but theres enough to keep you playing for a while. The free roam is amazing with spectacular scenery visuals and road effects and the view from inside the car is my personal favorite way. You can modify your dream ride in so many ways - both performance, exterior and interior. It would be better however if there were more cars to choose from, and the bulk of them are American muscle cars (but if thats what your into then it's alright). There aren't many tuner cars available and a wider selection would have been nice. Drift racing isn't included in the game, but i suppose thats not what the dub scene is about so don't worry too much. Race structure is good and the ability to take shortcuts through passages is helpful however make one move wrong and the whole race is screwed up - thats right the races can be INCREDIBLY frustrating. I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the street racing scene as this will keep your modding and racing for a while to come.
