Easy account to open, can apply online.
Uses a card reader for added security
One of the last big banks to issue a solo/maestro card.
Bad Points
Poor customer service.
Awful online signing in process.
Poor help pages online.
General Comments
I opened a basic Bank of Scotland Key Account for emergencies and at first all was well. The online application was a breeze and the card showed up in no time. Then the troubles started, my pin never arrived so far I have both rung and visited a branch for a reissue (4 months later still nothing) this has rendered me unable to withdraw or transfer cash (you need your pin to use the card reader) so I ended up buying something online just to get at my money. Am trying to close the account but with no luck they haven't responded to my letters.
