Overall Rating
- Value for money

- FormatPaperback
J.R.R. Tolkien was a master storyteller. He was a perfectionist and it is displayed quite well in his writings. He was also a linguist; he created entire languages for the races of Middle Earth. The details are vivid, allowing the reader to have a full picture of what is taking place in the author's imagination.
Bad Points
None, really, for a person who truly loves to read. Some say it's too long, as it contains too many details ("A whole paragraph describing Gandalph's hat!," as I had one person complain.), but for those who, like me, love to read, this is actually a benefit.
General Comments
If you loved the movies, buy the books. They contain so much more than the movies could ever show. If they had included the books in their entirety in the movies, they would have been nearly twices as long!
