Good Points

There are some good people on this site, although you have to look quite hard.


Bad Points

This site uses the age old system of making people sign an indefinite subscription agreement I feel, taking regular payments and in my experience I was not even notified as far as I am aware.
I experienced the usual Russian & Nigerian scammers spamming your inbox with free accounts.
Masses of "hopefuls" fishing for guys that are way too good for them in my opinion.
The usual "Married and looking" guys who destroy the ladies' trust for the rest of us.
No way of blocking someone without visiting their profile and hence leaving a "footprint".


General Comments

The site delivered the "goods" for me - a date with a like-minded girl which turned into a relationship. However, a friend of mine, who is actually younger and better looking than me, was on DD for over a year and had very little success, reporting that the expectations of the women on DD was unrealistic. One thing we agreed on was that the site's supposedly "huge" female membership is artificially inflated by:
- People who are no longer looking, but are forced to leave their account in place until the end of their subscription period due to the lack of a "cancel account now" facility.
- Girls who are only "passively" looking for a date, i.e. who leave a free account sitting on there for years, just on the off-chance that a complete Adonis or Millionaire will take an interest in them.
- Lots and lots of free accounts in use by Nigerian & Eastern European scammers.

I lost count of how many Russian women contacted me wanting to have my children!

All in all, not the worst dating site I've ever been on (Love at Lycos gets that honour) but by no means the best either. I think a lot needs to be improved in my opinion therefore I do not recommend datingdirect.com.
