Good Points

The positive side of this album is that they have been able to showcase some better lyrics, not they were ever poor at writing them but this time around allows them more freedom and depth. This stands to some vocal inputs to, there are many songs on hear they require a different range from the girls.

Slide Chick, You on a good day, Can we call a true and Girls are all good songs and if only the rest followed in this manner the girl woulda had another great album on their belts.

Bad Points

Like many other artists out there, the predicable sound to go for is 60's vibe...Amy Whinehouse and Sharleen form Texas...it's all been over done and now Sugababes have followed suit.

But where their downfall lies is that we expect these type of songs from authentic artits like Amy. Sugababes we expect excellent hook filled pop songs, layer with their superb vocals.

So Catfights and Spotlights erases any decent pop melodies and has no place for memorable vocals.

Their last album Change and Taller in more ways is where this band thrives, but this sound just doesnt suit them nor have them mastered the sound as good as Amywhine house does in this era.

General Comments

The new direction on this album was perhalps needed since the singles form their last album didnt set the charts on fire but that was due to the wrong choice of single, i.e. change, Denial....far better available! So I admire the band for trying but they should have relaised half way through, hey this isnt working!

I hope they return to their original producers because all their albums up to this have been really really impressive within the pop market!
