Good Points

High Capacity
Easy to use menus
Easy drag and drop function
Playlist building is easy


Bad Points

Recording off certain sources will invoke a copy protection, even if they are 'home movies'. This means you can only view the files on the device. You cannot remove this protection.
Large in size
Replacement hard disk can ONLY be installed by Archos ; at very high cost.
Format of files needs to be very specific, would need to have a purchased converter for most files.


General Comments

I like my Archos. Its great.

What I dont like, is the Archos company.

This unit does not act like a true DVR, but if you have converted, ripped files; they will play fine, but don't rely on it to record anything! Even via an attached camera!!

Also, Archos have discontinued the camera designed for the device; so there is no option to use that either.

For playing videos, playing music, storing files; great. As a recording device, very poor!
