Good Points
Reliability, no engine or transmission oil leaks even at 78000miles, good for towing, comfortable driving position.

Bad Points
Judder from windscreen wiper mechanism.

General Comments
Bought this Land Rover Freelander May 2005, I have placed 2 prevoius reviews this is an up date. ECU remap was worth while, still not sure of actual mpg increase, at a guess it's around 10% better.

Just had a slight glitch - power went down dramatically and loads of black smoke from exhaust under acceleration. I was thinking big money, ECU or turbo or something equally as complicated. Found problem to be a split in rubber elbow at front near side of induction manifold and the turbo was pumping air through the split into the engine comparment, screwdriver, 10 minutes and a new hose and back to perfect again.

I found this review very helpful because...I had exactly the same problem. Black smoke and loss of power. Split turbo elbow hose on near side. Thanks a lot.
