Good Points

Clean aircraft, one of the nicest Cabin crews I have come across. Great food for an Airline, great value for money. The usage of Terminal 2 in Manila Ninoy Aquino international airport is a big advantage. One of the nicest experiences I have had in the air.


Bad Points

Some of the aircraft I have been on are old, some flights have higher or equal to competitor prices, despite a lack of equal inflight entertainment and features onboard.


General Comments

Philippine Airlines has much potential to come back to its glory days, as Asia's first airline she has been through a lot. I have had some great experiences flying with PAL, and then their have been some annoying flights, with delays and such (although if you go to the Philippines, you must get used to such delays, its a very chaotic country!). The service was above what I expected for the prices in comparison to other carriers. I have flown on routes to Australia and domestically in the Philippines with PAL, and they have a great advantage with their own dedicated Terminal 2 in Manila Airport. Their fleet of 747's are relatively old, but they have just completed a fleet renovation of their A340's and 747's that fly to the US just this year. Despite their obvious trouble competing with the likes of Singapore Airlines or Cathay pacific, they offer a very nice product and make up in inflight service and the cabin service. One of the nicest crews I have met, it was a pleasure to fly with them. PAL has launched new services recently with new IFE and aircraft, so it is pot luck if you board a older series airplane with their old IFE. But they sure make up in service! PAL has a a bright outlook, I would recommend them for the most direct service to Manila from the US, Australia or other Long haul destinations.
