Good Points

There are a lot of retail outlets (many of the larger stores have ample parking) and they do have quite a few sales all year round. Sales staff on the whole are helpful - it's just getting hold of one that can often be the problem!


Bad Points

The cost of many items, namely the more expensive ones such as prams and pushchairs etc, can sometimes be bought at a far cheaper price over the internet with another company. One would imagine that Mothercare would strive to off-set these higher prices by improving other areas, such as better customer services, or having staff available to answer questions. Sadly this is not the case in my experience - I find the Customer Service department in Hertfordshire to be very disappointing and one of the worst I have ever encountered.


General Comments

We had a serious problem with a Maclaren stroller from Mothercare (which left my wife completely distraught) and we complained to the Mothercare Head Office (in Cherry Tree Road). On the face of it they showed concern, but in reality we found them to seem highly unprofessional in their dealings with us. When we complained we felt as though we were ignored and we have not received a reply to our letters as of yet. So, if you are worried about buying over the internet because it is difficult to get problems resolved, think again, I feel it makes no difference where the store is located. Mothercare has a store 200 meters from my office and our complaint has still not been resolved yet.
