Skillet's Review of Norinco KL-3B .177 Caliber

Overall Rating

4 stars
  • Value for money
    5 stars
  • Handling

  • Accuracy
    3.5 stars
Good Points

1) Good value for the money
2) Robust, better sights than most newer domestic airguns

Bad Points

1) Like most Chinese springers, will need a tune/trigger job
2) A bit heavy for the power-level
3) Breech seems oversized, smaller pells will fall back out after loading. Larger pells 'stick' better in the breech and work best.

General Comments

Bought mine in .22 from "Romey's Blades" before they closed them out. Trigger and internals were hideous, but all benefitted greatly from and internal polish and relube. Barrel needed a recrown as well.

I stripped the stock and recoated it with truck-bed liner black paint. Installed a trigger over-travel stop, trigger shoe etc. The side cocking lever 'rattled' when shooting, so I put a rubber bumper underneath to make it sit solid. Added a sling.

Internally polished and relubed, it does abt 435 fps with middleweight .22 pells. Mine seems ammo sensitive, but with the right ammo will group quite well. Good for making those cans jump when you hit them

Trigger now breaks at abt 4 lbs.

Well-satisfied with my purchase. Basically a "kit-gun", plan on some rework to get the most out of it.
