General Comments

We have booked our holiday to Mexico for this coming christmas period. As my partner is 6 foot we have booked extra leg room but enquired about upgrading. However, the flight is a Thomsonfly flight and therefore we were unsure who to contact. 1st we tried Thomson and were told that we could only book extras 7 days before the flight. We then tried First Choice who stated that there were no seats available in the premium class. No problem, but when we asked if we could prebook the seats we wanted, to ensure a window seat we were told that we couldn't do this either.
Again called Thomsons who stated that prebooking seats would not be a problem but then transferred us to First Choice. When waiting 20 minutes we were still on hold we gave up.
Again called First Choice direct. After 45 minutes waiting we were then told yes there were premium seats but as we were only travelling for 11 nights and not 14 we could not upgrade.
All in all we have spent nearly £4.5k on a holiday, which is more that some of the 14 night holidays only to be treated as 2nd class citizens because we booked on line.
If we had booked the holiday through Thomsons none of the above would have been a problem.
If we had booked through a Frist choice travel agent there would not be a problem.
I would not recommend that you book on line unless you are willing to spend considerable time on a premium rate telephone line only to discover that you are not afforded the same status as any other customer.
