Good Points

General Comments

I bought the Zen 4GB as a replacement for an old 512MB MP3 player which cost almost as much as I paid for the Zen ( £50), so this was a big update for me.

Though not massive by todays standards the Zen's 4GB is enough to store a good few hundred pictures, music tracks and 10s of videos at the same time, but for those who want more storage, the Zen fortunately comes in other sizes (up to 32GB) and an SD memory card slot to exapand its capacity (though doiing so means messing about with importing options).

The menus are easy to navigate through and the music player has the usual music sorting options- by artist, album, genre etc. Another play feautre is "Album of the day" which plays a random album at the touch of a button- not an amazing option but it's useful.

The screen, it doesn't have the best clarity and contrast but given the size of it (2.5 inches) you wouldn't expect much more and videos play back nicely.

Sound quality is good, but is best enjoyed with pretty much any headphones that aren't the ones supplied.
