Good Points

Seats in Star Class provided ample leg room, day before check in at Gatwick was a great stress free start to our holiday and as a large group of 13 we were all able to sit together at no extra cost even though first choice had tried to sell us this at time of booking.

Bad Points

Rude Staff!! Paying to upgrade movies and paying for drinks

General Comments

London Gatwick - Sanford FCA034 25/9/08
Having flown Virgin everytime we've travelled to the states we thought we would give first choice a go, having had a good start with day before check, I thought the flight would be a pleasant experience, onboard the leg room was sufficient and comfortable something I definitely couldn't fault, we were then told the headphones that were supplied would be the only pair we would get and wouldn't receive anymore on the return flight unless we were willing to pay for them, for the duration of our 9 hour flight. I could only hear through one head phone, I had by this time paid the £5 upgrade for films and games, we found our cabin crew unfriendly and unapproachable, my 6 year old cousin fell asleep during the flight and when my aunt asked for a blanket she was met with a very curt "No". Food was ok but took 2 hours into the flight to come out, we then didn't receive anything else until we were an hour away from Sanford the only free drink we received was a cup of tea/coffee with the meal or juice for the kids, which for the price you pay for a ticket is disgusting, on landing my 2 year old son was sick and very distressed we were assisted by a fellow passenger whilst the air hostess looked on in disgust. As a whole we found the plane comfortable, but the money grabbing attitude and awful cabin crew unfortunately let First Choice down. For us it's worth spending that little bit extra and flying Virgin because for service and hospitality they can't be beaten.
