3com Palm VII Review

Good Points
Internet Wireless capability can be absolutely priceless! And it's a regular Palm to boot!

Bad Points
This model is slightly larger than the Palm III models, and
many accessories do not fit. Also, wireless access cost is
too high, but dropping. The 2MB original model may be limiting,
but an 8MB model is rumored to be coming.

General Comments
I had not used a Palm before, and got this as a techno toy

rather than as an organizer. As an organizer, it's very

handy, and I have just about abandoned my paper day-timer.



However, the wireless internet access turned out to be

absolutely outstanding when I took a trip to the Eastern

U.S. recently. I could still access my e-mail, although

my parents did not have an internet connection. Even

more valuable, the flight information (gate and luggage

assignments) was extremely helpful. It's superb -- but now

my wife wants one...BTW, I paid about $450. An 8MB model

is said to be on the way -- highly recommended.
