General Comments

Travelling to New Orleans via Detroit.
Returning from New Orleans to London Heathrow via Minneapolis
Our flight to Detroit was delayed and the food was pretty poor fare. This was not a problem, but arriving in Detroit we had to run through the airport and check our luggage in again. We received no information about connecting flights and the cabin crew could not offer us any information either.
When we arrived in New Orleans our bags had not arrived with us, they were still in Detroit. The girl behind the counter informed us that our luggage would arrive around 5 hours later. However, our bags did not arrive until 2: 45am which was a full 10 hours later.
As we had to wait up for our luggage the beginning of our holiday was ruined as we were so tired. The rest of the holiday was fantastic and we figured that the journey home could not be as bad. How wrong we were!

Upon arriving at the airport for the return flight a man working at the NWA desk where our shuttle stopped told us that he would get our boarding pass for us through the electronic machine. He was useless, this process took us 5 minutes at Heathrow, but this man did not even know where Heathrow was, he kept getting everything wrong on the machine and then had the audacity to ask for a tip.
The incompetence of the man at the check in desk was beyond belief. First he told us that our flight was canceled, then said no your flight is not canceled you are not registered on this flight. When I asked why not, he said it was because we had not re-confirmed. Then our names popped up on his computer and he said "oh you are registered for this flight I just found you." Finally he asked how we got into the country because we were not on his computer for the flight from Heathrow. I showed him the Green Card we had received and then he became flustered took our bags.
Finally we boarded the connecting flight to Minneapolis, my seat pocket contained empty cans and used plastic cups. The lady to my right also had garbage in her pocket, when she complained to the stewardess, the girl rudely grabbed the can out of the pocket huffing angrily.
We were not able to sit in our pre-booked seats on the return flight to London, but luckily the plane was rather empty so although the two of us were in the middle row, the spare seat in the middle row allowed us to give the (rather large) man on the end a bit more space.
I have traveled numerous times with many different airlines to a number of destinations and I have never encountered the rudeness, incompetence and poor service which I received with NWA. I would never recommend this airline. I would rather stay at home than travel with them.
