Good Points
Good coverage of steam locomotive subjects without too much emphasis on preserved lines and locos. They letter features are always interesting and stimulate a lot of reaction from readers.

Bad Points
The long running series 'Stratford forever' has been overlong and concentrates too much on personalities rather than the depots, locos and operations particularly overlooking concerning the dock lines freight services.

General Comments
The magazine covers the post World War II years very thoroughly with lots of interesting articles about spotter's activities in those halcyon days. There hasn't been a single issue that hasn't contained an article which hasn't been of interest to me. The olny 'boring' feature in my opinion, has been the over-long 'Stratford forever' feature which has been going on forever.
