Good Points

Easy to use. Intuitive menu. Wide angle. Very good battery life. Very sharp photos in macro mode. HD video is good at 100 ISO setting and in good light. Very clear LCD.

Bad Points

Average image quality. I recommend to use 100 ISO all the time. From ISO 400 the images are grainy. Clear purple fringing easily seen when enlarged. If higher ISO than 100 is used while using the HD video, it will be very grainy video.

General Comments

The image quality on the Casio Exilim EX Z300 is a big disappointment compared to Casio Exilim EX Z1080 which is pin sharp and is the sharpest compact camera I have ever tested. The colours are not always correct on Z300, and at the far end of the zoom the pictures are not very clear. As for most of the Casio cameras it is best to keep the ISO setting at 100. Then you will get the most out of the picture quality. Macro mode is very good and so are portraits. I think the video size of 848X480 on the Exilim EX Z1080 gives in average a better quality than HD function on the Z300. I would expect better image quality from a camera like this.
