We were burgled whilkst away on holiday on 17th augsut 2008, it was reported to the police that day by people who were looking after our animals for us and we came home the day after and started the claim process with the halifax. It was 2 weeks later that a 'loss adjustor' came to our home and interrogated me. 2 weeks after that because we had not heard amnything I rang to be told that our claim was still being investigated and he had done background checks on us like we were the criminal - what he was expecting to find out, i really dont know. Now another 3 weeks later so 8 weeks after the burglary I have had to phone again as we have had no contact with them only to be told that I will recieve a phone call later in the day. For all these weeks we have been without our possessions, and my little girl without her games consoles etc.

A large number of items were taken due to the fact that my husbands van was also stolen the probably used in the robbery - they cleared us out and the halifax have treated us terribly. I have been with them for 12 years with mortgage and insurance and bank account - as soon as this is over I'm cancelling everything. If they do not pay out then I;m taking it to a solicitor as I have fulfilled every part of my policy and have no exclusions on it and I feel they are desperately trying not to pay out.
