Good Points

Beautiful scooter, rides well... when it works.

Bad Points

Not the best quality!! To say the least... Poor service from Aprilia... or should I say non existing service (at least here in London, don't know what it's like around the rest of the country).

General Comments

I've had my Mojito Custom 50cc for two years. In this time I've only driven it for about 5000km, which is a really low mileage. I've had the scooter serviced on a regular basis, which is 1000km and 5000km intervals. So with other words I've just had my 5000km service. In these two years the I've had to hand in my scooter to the workshop twice (besides the two regular services) so 4 times in total (this already kind of gives you an indication of the reliability or should I say the lack of it).

The first time I had my scooter in for repair it was in the workshop for 4 months... this because they had to change the "stop switch button"!!?? The reason for the time it had to spend there was that Aprilia in Italy wasn't responding to the warranty claim they were making! Thanks for the service Aprilia...

The second time I had to take it to the Aprilia Centre was 1 month after I had my 5000km service. Apparently the exhaust pipe had broken!? The exhaust pipe!!?? A new exhaust pipe costs £265 and this is EXCLUDING any work. With labour I've been told it will set me back around £370... I asked them how this can be possible, first of all how can an exhaust pipe break after such a short period of time, and what do I do if this happens in 6 months again.. do I have to pay another £400... Needless to say they did not have an answer.

My advise is to stay clear of Aprilia, it's not worth the hassle. I paid £1700 for my scooter, in the two years I've had it, I've spent about £700 in repairs and service charges...

It's beyond me how a scooter that is regularly serviced, well cared for, rarely driven breaks down to the extent that it will cost over £700 in service and repair charges in two years...
