I totally disagree with the negative comments about Semiramis 2 - I have taken 8 cruises on this boat and I can't recommend it highly enough - the wonderful staff, delicious food, outstanding cleanliness and hygiene have been second to none. Having also visited the Terramar I can compare the two and the atmosphere on Semiramis is unique - the friendliest place and nicest people I have ever met - I can't wait until my next trip! I would recommend this boat to everyone. The guides were also outstanding, extremely knowledgeable and will leave anyone with a passion for Egypt.

  I found this review helpful because...as a first time visitor to egypt -- going in feb 09, and this is the boat we are going to be on -- as its going to fulfill a lifelong desire to visit egypt I want it all to go well, so thank you kathy!!

  Will do ... Oh my goodness.. im getting so excited now!! More so as will be leaving the snow behind!! Just packing my case and think i need to be ruthless and halve my clothes!! I just cant wait now, I will have a warm birthday(feb 10th) this year!

  Well, I'm back graham.. Can only agree with all Kathy said... Had wonderful time Ship is all refurbished very clean.. The staff presented our table with chocolate cake and unique song on my birthday.. Hope you have comfy walking shoes as def need them.. You need to take some small notes to tip temple/tombs guides as its VERY hard to get any change on board as no bills till end of week... Hope you get same guide we had .. he was top notch, very informed and will also help with bartering.. One thing left to say... any room for a passenger??

  Hi Kathy, The guide we had was a fully trained Egptyologist, Hes done a lot of work with The german guy whos always on the Discovery Channel, .... Van Weiss? But hes just so courteous and helpful and hes an absolute mine of info! Before we got off our coach at one place, he told us exactly how much we should pay if we bought anything of the persistent sellers(You know the sellers i mean) and when he found that one of us had been really overcharged, he told him to show him who he'd got it of and made the seller reimburse him! Said they know not to do that to tourists!
